About the Team

We are a group of Cal Poly students passionate about cutting-edge automotive technology. Every year we build a prototype vehicle to compete in Shell's Eco-Marathon Competition, a race focused strictly on fuel efficiency. These vehicles are designed and manufactured entirely in house by our dedicated student members, and run only on normal, 87-octane gasoline. At the 2018 competition, Delamina (pictured above) earned 4th place out of about 100 teams by achieving just under 1300 miles per gallon. We are currently in the optimization phase for next year's competition in 2019, with a goal of besting Cal Poly's all-time school record of 2752 MPG.
